This is Pierce's fifth CD. Songs of the Sea is a classic Irish pub style CD with full instrumentation including guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, harmonica and percussion, not to mention great vocals. This CD is Pierce's first Irish pub style CD and fourth solo recording. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by him in his Twelfth Octave Studio. Pierce sings and plays acoustic guitar, mandolin and bass with a few banjo tracks by Paul Neri and one guest bass track on John Barleycorn by Tony Pasqualoni. The recording has many traditional Irish pub songs like ' The Moonshiner' and 'The Irish Rover' while his original drinking songs,( One Pint Of Porter, The Ration Of Rum, Too Much Good Whiskey, A Pint Or So, The Sailor's Chant) are written in the Irish folk tradition and fit right in with their authentic feel. There are many lead lines and solos played by mandolin and guitar together giving the CD a signature sound. Live in the Studio is The Kerry Boys second CD and features bluegrass legend Phil Rosenthal on banjo and bassist Tony Pasqualoni. The album was conceived to give fans a recording of the full band that has been playing together for several years at outdoor summer concerts and festivals. Live in the Studio give listeners a great sounding CD with the "live" feel people have loved about The Kerry Boys for years. This is the first FBJB CD record. Recorded at the Woodbury , CT Town Hall with Pierce's father Pete leading the band on cornet. The Funky Butt Jazz Band play New Orleans style jazz. Think about Bourbon Street and Preservation Hall and you've got an idea of this 7 piece group.
